In 2011 FCCLG Supported the following organizations and agencies:
- Back Bay Mission: The only UCC presence in Mississippi, Back Bay Mission serves…by faithful witness for social justice and compassionate service to the poor and marginalized.
- One Great Hour of Sharing: An offering that makes the love of Christ real for individuals and communities around the world who suffer the effects of disaster, conflict, or severe economic hardship, and for those who serve them through gifts of money and time. Today, projects are underway in more than 100 countries, including the United States and Canada.
- Beds Plus: a long time partner, Beds Plus has been providing overnight shelter, meals and essential services to homeless men, women and children of west suburban Cook County since 1988.
- Community Nurse Health: is dedicated to enhancing the health of our community. We serve as a community healthcare center for residents of the western suburbs of Chicago, focusing on those who have limited access to care. We value patient dignity, community collaboration and prevention and wellness by delivering coordinated and integrated health care services and education.
- Pillars: keeps our communities healthy and strong by providing quality, community-based services for over 10,000 individuals and families annually who are facing challenges and crisis. Pillars utilizes a community wraparound approach, offering a wide spectrum of fully-integrated services that collectively offer the strongest possible safety net.
- Our Church's Wider Mission: Basic Support and Special Support provide funding for the work of UCC Conference and National ministries in support of the life and work of the local church and its members. OCWM changes lives by strengthening our ecumenical relationships and global partnerships, by imagining and embodying a better world through prophetic witness and work, and by providing resources and programs to nurture the vitality of our United Church of Christ congregations.
- The Zackley Work Trip: The 2011 Zackley Work Trip was to rural Tennessee, where we worked with Morgan Scott Project. Since 1972 the Morgan-Scott Project for Cooperative Christian Concerns (MSP) has formed a base from which the needs of low income families in Scott and Morgan counties in rural Tennessee can be addressed. Their mission includes a school for children with learning disabilities, free tutoring programs, healthcare clinics, libraries, a homeless shelter, thrift stores, a home garden program, a Habitat for Humanity chapter, education and job training programs, community centers for children, youth, and the elderly, legal aid services, emergency aid, disaster relief, and home repair.
- CEP Youth Leadership: designs and implements education, prevention, and development programs for a group of diverse youth to promote leadership skills, foster positive relationships, and provide opportunities to engage in community service resulting in life-long civic responsibility and a unified community.
- Common Hope: promotes hope and opportunity in Guatemala, partnering with children, families, and communities who want to participate in a process of development to improve their lives through education, health care, and housing.
- Iglesia Unida de Cristo
- The Night Ministry: compassionately provides housing, health care, outreach, spiritual care, and social services to adults and youth who struggle with homelessness, poverty and loneliness. They accept individuals as they are and offer support as they seek to improve their lives and invite others to join this hope-filled work.
- Outdoor Ministries of Illinois Conference: has two outdoor ministry sites: Pilgrim Park Camp and Tower Hill Camp. Both Tower Hill and Pilgrim Park are open though out the year in order to serve the needs of individuals, families, and churches of the both the Illinois Conference and the areas surrounding each camp. Outdoor Ministries means Oak trees and a pine forest … A pond and wildflowers … A hoot owl at night … Sea gulls soaring overhead … Picking mushrooms in May … Wading barefoot in the creek … Hearing a bullfrog croaking at night … The sound of waves lapping at the shore … Campfires – Singalongs –S’mores … Discussion Circles … Contemplating the Cross … Seeing the brilliance of the Milky Way … Walking in quiet solitude … Joining hands and hearts in prayer … Feeling an autumn frost in the air … Catching snowflakes on the tongue … Rediscovering a world almost forgotten … Sharing a moment with God
- Valention Achak Deng Organization: working to increase access to education in post-conflict South Sudan by building schools, libraries, teacher-training institutes, and community centers.
- Casa Central: transforms lives and strengthens communities, with a special focus on Hispanics. Our network of social services propels a diverse population of all ages toward self-sufficiency and a higher quality of life.
- Chicago Theological Seminary: an affiliated seminary of the United Church of Christ, CTS pushes at the growing boundaries of the church in order to make our faith relevant and transform our society in the image of justice and are proud to carry on our legacy of over 150 years as we continue to educate and prepare future leaders for a multitude of ministries
- Community Renewal Society: is an organization rooted in a faith-based tradition which empowers people to combat racism and the effects of poverty by providing tools such as objective, investigative journalism, organizing and training to civic leaders, community activists and congregations.
- Helping Hand Rehabilitation: assists persons with disabilities to achieve their highest level of independence through quality programs and services.
- Interfaith Community Partners: Provides transportation to medical appointments, therapy, stores, meetings and events (escorted as needed), safety and well-being checks, and regularly scheduled contacts, visitation on an ongoing basis to provide companionship and support, provision of resources and support for caregivers of older adults by a licensed social worker, trained volunteers provide these services (background checks are required), Community Resource Assistance, and Referrals to available services.
- Soup Kitchen of Union Church, Hinsdale: Each week, on Monday mornings, a handful of volunteers make delicious hearty, healthy soup for our Saturday Meals Program and for San Lucas UCC near Humboldt Park. We are all grateful for their love and support.
