 Top Ten Reasons
Why this is an exciting year for stewardship

  • Number Ten: When the economy is shaky we tend to cut back our giving.  This year is a great chance to put our money where our faith is by encouraging faithful giving in new and creative ways.
  • Number Nine: Creative stewardship is an antidote for the depression and shutting down that comes in times of economic and political uncertainty.  Laughing relaxes our grip on fear.
  • Number Eight: Have you ever been part of the “wave” at a sporting event?  It doesn’t just happen.  Someone has to get it going.  Now is our chance to begin a “wave” of generosity.
  • Number Seven: This is a REALLY good chance to step outside ourselves and invest in something that matters at a time that really matters.  Thinking outside the box is an overused phrase and an under used concept.
  • Number Six: In a time of perceived scarcity an attitude of abundance speaks volumes and moves mountains.  It also helps us link with one another and build relationships in new and profound ways.
  • Number Five: Exploring creative ways to give up something we love makes us better lovers.
  • Number Four: Generous people live longer!  Lighthearted stewardship is serious business.  This is not a time to fold our tents and let our spirits dry up.
  • Number Three: Creative giving is fun, energizing, and opens the door to the breezes of the Spirit.  Fresh air is always a gift.
  • Number Two: We can always find people who will say “no” to most anything.  Let’s be the “yes” sayers in our congregations and lead the way.
  • Number One: This is an amazing time to be alive and be faithful.  As the Spirit teases us into tomorrow and speaks as never before, let’s listen up!
