The Chancel Choir and friends of FCCLG along with wonderful soloists and instrumentalists are presenting a concert celebrating Epiphany and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 11 at 3pm.
Margaret Bonds, a Chicago native and the first African American to perform with the Chicago Symphony, collaborated with Langston Hughes on two pieces to be performed: The song-cycle "Three Dream Portraits" and the cantata "The Ballad of the Brown King." Music by William Grant Still, and Christmas and Epiphany spirituals complete the program.
The free concert is sponsored by Friends of Music donations and First Conservatory. A free will offering will benefit the Caring Place Foundation.

First Congregational Church of La Grange sits on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral homelands of Native Peoples.
We honor with gratitude the land itself and the Indigenous peoples who have been caretakers of the land for thousands of years, into the present day.
Our celebration of worship takes places every Sunday at 10:00 am in the main Sanctuary.
We also live stream all of our services and provide onscreen text of all prayers and songs.
